An annual service keeps your manufacturer warranty valid and keeps the system running at the low flow temperature it was designed for. We service heat pumps across Edinburgh, Midlothian, the Lothians and the Borders — including systems we didn't install.

What we recommend
Not just our own systems
Certified installer
A heat pump isn't a boiler with a different badge. Servicing one properly means checking the heat pump and its plant room — not just the box outside.
We service the heat pump and the equipment in your plant room it connects to — not just the box outside. Radiators and underfloor heating aren’t part of a standard service.
You don't need to have bought your system from us. We service heat pumps installed by other companies regularly, and we'll tell you honestly what we find.
Every manufacturer’s controls work differently. We’ll help you work out the settings that best suit how you use your home.
Every plan includes the annual service and removes call-out charges. The difference between them is how much goes wrong before you're paying for it.
The annual service, with no call-out charges on the heat pump itself.
Extends cover to the whole central heating system, with parts and labour included.
Everything in Premium, plus your home's mains electrical system.
All plans are subject to a health assessment of your system before sign-up, and exclusions apply — the full terms are on our service cover eligibility and general conditions page. Plan customers get 10% off any parts we supply.
Ask about a service planThis is what makes heat pumps different from boilers. When a boiler is neglected, it eventually stops and you call someone. When a heat pump is neglected, it usually keeps working — it simply does the same job less efficiently, every hour of every winter, and the cost turns up on an electricity bill nobody thinks to question.
Nothing dramatic happens. Filters gradually restrict airflow, antifreeze levels drop in ground-source systems, and settings left at commissioning no longer match how the house is actually used.
Filters cleaned, antifreeze checked where your system uses it, help with the settings that suit how you live in the house, plus basic electrical checks and the cylinder safety check.
The point of the annual service isn't to stop a breakdown. It's to stop the slow, invisible drift away from the running costs your system was designed to deliver — the whole reason you fitted a heat pump in the first place.
Every annual service includes all of the following.
A full check that every part of the system is doing what it should, with any fault logs reviewed.
We’ll go through your controls with you and help you find the settings that suit how you use the house.
Restricted filters make the system work harder for the same heat. One of the most common causes of creeping running costs.
Checked and topped up where needed — it matters most in exactly the weather you can't afford a problem.
A full safety check on the cylinder and its discharge arrangements, carried out as part of every service.
A visual check of the electrical connections on the system’s components.
Remote monitoring too. Where your manufacturer provides an online monitoring portal, we can look at how your system is actually performing between visits — so a developing problem doesn't have to wait twelve months to be spotted.
That's what we recommend for heat pumps, and it's normally what your manufacturer requires to keep the warranty valid. Equipment wears; regular maintenance extends its life and catches problems that are developing, so you aren't left without heating in the middle of winter.
It’s an easy date to remember, it keeps the service on a steady yearly rhythm, and booking it then means we can always fit you in, rather than queueing with everyone else when the heating season starts.
A lot of the systems we look after weren't fitted by us. Some owners have simply moved house. Others were left without support after their installer moved on.
Service the system properly, check it against how it should have been designed, and tell you straight what we find — including if the answer is that everything is fine.
- No requirement to have bought from us

- We already know exactly how your system was designed
- 10% off any parts we supply, as a plan customer
